Mahindra is gearing up to enter the premium three-row EV segment with its all-new XEV 9S, set to debut on November 27, 2025, in Bengaluru. Once launched, it will become Mahindra’s first fully electric 7-seater SUV, marking a major expansion of its born-electric lineup beyond its existing two-row EVs.
A fresh teaser has now confirmed several premium features and design elements previously seen only on the XUV.e8 concept. The XEV 9S gets a futuristic front fascia, ditching the familiar XUV700-style lighting for a bold new identity. A closed-off EV grille, sharp LED light bars, stacked headlamps and boomerang-shaped DRLs give the SUV a distinctive and modern look.
Inside, the cabin showcases a wide triple-screen dashboard, continuing Mahindra’s new-age digital cockpit philosophy. The teaser also reveals a soft dual-tone interior, a stylish two-spoke steering wheel with the Twin Peaks logo, and a shark fin antenna at the rear.
One of the biggest highlights is the Boss Mode for second-row passengers — offering reclining lounge-style seats designed for maximum comfort. A large panoramic sunroof spans across the cabin, adding to the premium feel. The second row appears spacious and clearly aimed at chauffeur-driven buyers, while third-row details are still under wraps.
Under the skin, the XEV 9S is built on the INGLO platform, the same architecture used for the XEV 9e and BE 6. This means the SUV is likely to share similar battery and motor options, though performance and range may vary slightly due to the added size of a three-row layout. Even so, Mahindra is targeting a real-world range of 500+ km on a single charge.
Tech and safety features expected include ventilated & memory front seats, a comprehensive digital ecosystem across screens, Level 2 ADAS (adaptive cruise, AEB, lane keep assist), six airbags, wireless charging, adjustable headrests and more.
The Mahindra XEV 9S is shaping up to be one of the most feature-rich and family-focused electric SUVs in India. More details are expected in the coming weeks as launch day approaches.
